About
My name is Joshua Johannes Antone van Fulpen and I was born and raised in the big city of Rotorua (not a big city). Growing up in New Zealand and wanting to pursue film as a job is exactly what it sounds like, a pipe dream but its still my dream. The creative fields that i'm interested in are directing, cinematography, editing and visual effects. My main inspirations for wanting to become a filmmaker came from early on at primary school, it seemed like a fun job that nobody wanted to do. I originally wanted to work on animated films and become an animator but within a few years I would squash that dream as I wasn't a good artist at all. I later found inspiration from film makes like Edgar Wright, with the sheer amount of details he packs into his films and the comedic sensibilities, creating my favourite film of all time, Hot Fuzz. Another kind of inspiration to me is my dad. My dad was a manager working at the courts and he quit his job to follow his dream of becoming a police officer. He has always encouraged me to follow my dreams even if it is a super unlikely one. In 3 to 5 years I would love to be working in the industry, filming television or films, writing scripts, editing footage or even working on visual effects. Ideally working on my own projects and having fun making stuff.
